What you get
Frequently asked questions
How much does Dragon Medical One cost in Australia?
Contact us for current pricing. Dragon Medical One is sold as an annual subscription that includes the software licence, PowerMic Mobile app, remote installation, personalised training, and 12 months of Australian technical support. Enterprise and volume pricing is available for hospitals and large practices.
Does Dragon Medical One work with Best Practice, Genie, and Medical Director?
Yes. Dragon Medical One works with Best Practice, Genie Solutions, Medical Director, Shexie, Gentu, and many other clinical software systems. It floats over your existing application and dictates into any text field. We also support Epic and Cerner for hospital environments.
Do I need to train Dragon Medical One to recognise my voice?
No significant voice training is required. Dragon Medical One uses cloud-based artificial intelligence to automatically adapt to your accent and dictation style over time. You select your medical specialty when you first log in and can start dictating immediately.
Where is my data stored?
Dragon Medical One for Australian customers runs on Microsoft Azure with data residency across two geographically distributed locations within Australia. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Audio is streamed for recognition processing and is not stored on the client device.
What is Dragon Copilot and is it available in Australia?
Dragon Copilot is Microsoft's newer ambient AI assistant that combines Dragon Medical One dictation with ambient listening and generative AI to create structured clinical notes from consultations. As of March 2026, Dragon Copilot is available in the US, UK, Canada, and parts of Europe. It is not yet publicly listed as available in Australia. We expect Australian availability in due course. Register your interest on our Dragon Copilot page.
How is Dragon Medical One different from AI scribes?
Dragon Medical One produces verbatim transcription - exactly what you say appears in your clinical notes. AI scribes listen to consultations and generate summarised or restructured notes using generative AI. This means AI scribe output is not a verbatim record and may introduce clinical documentation risks. The TGA may also have implications for AI tools that generate clinical content. Dragon Medical One gives you direct control over what appears in the patient record.
Can I use my mobile phone as a microphone?
Yes. The PowerMic Mobile app is included with every Dragon Medical One subscription. It turns your iPhone or Android phone into a secure wireless microphone. You can move between consulting rooms and computers without carrying separate hardware.
What happens if I have technical issues?
Every Dragon Medical One subscription from Voice Recognition Australia includes 12 months of Australian-based technical support. Our team can remotely connect to your system to troubleshoot and resolve issues. We also provide access to subscriber-only training videos.
